Attractions in Udon Thani City
Udon Thani is relatively new in the grand scheme of things, coming into existence as recent as the late 1800's. The city has been developed with an emphasis on functionality, rather than tourism, that is until quite recently when the need for a 'ferang' part of town, where some provision for a naughty nightlife area was identified and made available. Seasoned travellers and city visitors are normally used to visiting a number of museums, art galleries, statues and other attractions that are scattered around, but in Udon Thani there is nowhere near the same number of attractions, and those that are considered as city sights are generally not as interesting as say the Eiffel Tower, Tower Bridge, Houses of Parliament, or the Cistene Chapel for example.
Nonetheless, there are a few parts of the city that are more notable than most, and are now considered as the major Udon Thani attractions, which we have listed below. If you take your time when visiting these attractions, and making use of the Tuk Tuks that are available, you can normally see everything quite comfortably inside two days.
