Attractions in Udon Thani - Central Plaza Shopping Mall
Central Plaza Shopping Mall is not strictly speaking an attraction, but it would not be right to talk about Udon Thani, and what is available for visitors, without at least making some mention of it. The Central Plaza Shopping Mall is by far the largest of the shopping centres in Udon Thani and has recently seen a major overhaul and extension to make it even more impressive that is was just a few short years ago. Located just outside the main tourist nightlife area, Central Plaza Shopping Mall is perfectly placed for visitors and the local Thai community alike, and has plenty to offer both. It also makes for a very useful meeting point, with its central location.
Central Plaza consists of 6 levels (Ground, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5), and it is the top level (or floor 5), where you will find an entertainment centre which includes a 16 lane, Ten Pin Bowling centre and cinemas. It should however be noted that the cinemas do not always show movies in any language other than Thai, but what else can you expect. The bowling alley is good though, and they often have promotions running through the day to attract customers. Compared to bowling in England (for example), games here are ridiculously cheap. Of course, inside is a restaurant which serves mostly Thai food, a bar area, and if memory serves me well - a karaoke bar too.

The spoken English of the staff in the bowling alley is nearly non-existent on the whole, but you can get by enough to book some games and hire shoes, which are an additional 30 baht.
The 4th floor is packed with restaurants and cafes, again mainly with Thai or Japanese food. The 3rd floor is where all the local banks are concentrated, and just about all of them have ATM machines where you can withdraw cash from your bank. The 2nd floor is predominantly fashion and jewelry as is the 1st floor, however the 1st floor also has McDonalds and KFC to the rear.

How To Get To Central Plaza Shopping Mall

From the Day & Night entertainment complex, turn right, and then right again at the bottom of the road. Central Plaza is then on your right, after a few minutes walk.
