Samkhaow Factory - Udon Thani
Samkhaow Factory is a somewhat misleading name, but hey, it's just a name - right? It is a small wildlife park with a cafe and grounds to relax in. The main attraction for the foreign visitor is most likely to be the Elephants and the opportunity to ride them.
The cost for the elephant ride is 150 baht for short trip which takes about 25-30 minutes, for up to 2 or 3 people one a single elephant, or 300 baht for a longer ride

For us foreign visitors this park is not very exotic other than the elephants, but it still makes for a lovely place to take the Thai wife or girlfriend, and any younger children she/you may have. There are ostriches, pigs, geese, goats, deer and koi carp.
Of course, having a cafe and eatery on site is rather handy too. It's always good to sit down, relax and indulge on some tasty Thai food.

How To Get To Samkhaow Factory
Samkhaow Factory is not far from Udon Thani being just 20km south of the city centre.
Go on to highway 2 heading south towards Khon Kaen, taking the first right turn after the Udon Thani cancer Hospital (on the right). The park is then just 750m on the right.
