Udon Thani to Kham Chanot Tour
Full day and half day tours are available to Kham Chanot from Udon Thani. The half day tour is a little rushed and provides about 1 hour in the temple grounds. This maybe be enough for a foreign visitor, but for a Thai or any Buddhist, it is nowhere near enough, so a full day tour is advised.

Kham Chanot is a little under 91 km from Udon Thani with a journey time, under normal driving conditions, of around 1.5 - 2 hours. On route you will pass Na Kha Silk Village and large Buddha statue, just before you turn right on to route 2255 to Sum Sao. From here you join route 2022, then route 2096 to Ban Dung. There are a number of shops where you can buy a drink or food if you wish.
On leaving Ban Dung, you are on the final stretch to Kham Chanot and the road heads round the north of a range of waterways which are farmed for salt. You will see lots of salt stalls on the roadside too; it appears to be the main source of income here.
