Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1

Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 is located in the centre of the city, just south of the Central Plaza shopping complex. On the surface it appears to be a rather chaotic and busy place but the locals seem to have a pretty good idea of what is going on, and many of the bus company employees have at least enough English to help you find the right bus.
You normally pay at a small desk next to the where each bus route has a dedicated parking slot. There are times, when the bus is just about to depart, where you may be herded straight on to the bus where you pay when the conductor inspects passenger tickets.

This is a direct minivan service that operates every 30 minutes during the day. Very convenient but often full with limited seating. Journey time is about 1 hour
Udon Thani to Khon Kaen
Government buses operate about every hour to Khon Kaen bus terminal 3. Journey time is about 2 hours. Change here for services to Kalasin, Chaiyaphum, Roi Et, Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, Maha Sarakham, Surin, Buriram, Amnat Charoen, Mukdahan, Si Sa Ket
